HITEC CITY OVERVIEW
The Hyderababd Information Technology and Engineering Consultancy City, abbreviated as HITEC
City, is one of the leading IT, Engineering, Health Informatics and Bioinformatics hubs of India
situated in Hyderabad. It is spread across 200 acres of land under suburbs of Madhapur,
Gachibowli, Kondapur, Manikonda and Nanakramguda, the technology township is also known as
Cyberabad. HITEC City is within two kilometers of the residential and commercial suburb of
Jubilee Hills.
HITEC City was commissioned initially with L&T ECC and was named L&T INFOCITY. The project is
being developed by Larsen & Toubro Limited through its Special Purpose Vehicle, L&T Hitech City
Limited, a joint venture company of L&T Infocity Limited and APIIC. HITEC City has emerged as
the symbolic heart of cosmopolitan Hyderabad.
The project is spread over 300 acres of land. It offers multi-tenanted as well as built-to-suit
facilities. It is strategically located and caters to all segments of the IT Industry including
small and medium enterprises, with office areas starting from as small as 2500 sq ft. The first
IT block named MEDHA was inaugurated by K. Rosaiah, then CM of Andhra Pradesh on 28 January,
2010.
The key landmarks in HITEC City includes the Cyber Towers which is the second phase of HITEC City
and was the first tower to be built for promotion of Information Technology. L&T Infocity houses
companies like Accenture, Microsoft and Oracle. HITEX Exhibition Center is one more corporate
hub which is a state-of-the-art venue for international exhibitions, conferences, trade shows
and corporate events in India.
