Bhosari is another suburban area of Pune City. Bhosari is popularly known as Bhojapur among the

Historically Bhosari is better known for the ‘Artist Temple’ and ‘Artist Mahal’ which
archaeologists excavated and is believed to be 2000 years old. Excavators also found many pots,
equipment’s and artefacts which are believed to be from 200 AD and the overall village here has
its history dating back to Gautama Buddha’s era.
The modern-day Bhosari is a heavy industrial area. The area is covered with big industries and
boasts of healthy names with modern industrial giants like Tata Motors, Philips etc. Due to this
reason, it is known also as the MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) area. The
state of Maharashtra along with the Pune Municipal Corporation has ensured to popularise this
area with as many industries as possible.
Location
Bhosari is situated on elevated grounds and is close to 530 meters above sea level, making it a
marvellous place with an excellent climate. Bhosari is situated 14 km north of from the centre
of Pune City. The Pune-Nashik National Highway - 50 goes through Bhosari. Markets and shopping
malls with excellent transportation all within a radius of 5-8 kilometre make this place a
favourite residential place. Chinchwad Railway Station, Kasarwadi Railway Station, Bhosari Bus
Stand, PCMT Bus Terminal are other nearby commuting options.
Connectivity
Bhosari is a locality set up little far from the city centre. The distance to Pune airport is 15
kilometres and railway station is 19 kilometres. Bhosari has excellent connectivity through
Metro to other important areas of Pune. It has a very good connectivity on one side
Pimpri-Chinchwad, Chakan, Moshi, Spine Road and on another side Kalyani Nagar, Vishrantwadi,
Viman Nagar, Dhanori, Yerwada, Kharadi, Wagholi. On one side is MIDC where all Big Automobile
Companies have their manufacturing units, on another side, there is Huge IT Hub developing.
