10 Things to Know for a Smooth and Safe Shifting Experience

Choosing the right packers and movers is now very difficult as there are thousands of shifting services available in every city of India today. So here are 10 significant things one needs to know in order to ensure a smooth and safe shifting experience:

• Professional
Even from the first interaction, the packer/mover should be professional. They should have a good process in place with Standard Operating Procedures. They should have a very public platform (website with phone number and email). Also, a good technology based online inventory collection system is a must have for a professional move company in this tech-first era.
• Trained teams
The shifting service teams should be properly trained on etiquettes and packing and should not be shoddy and/or intoxicated. They must be present with all proper equipment required for the job on the day of relocation.
• Quote shared is final
The shared quote should be all inclusive with no hidden charges. You must confirm that the quote shared is final and no last minute additions happen. For assurance, you can ask for an official invoice from the packer once the move is completed.
• Reviews
To make sure that you are going to hire the best packer and mover, you can check for customer reviews in social media. Also, check for validation through doing a Google search for news on the vendor you are choosing. One must go through actual customer testimonials on complaint resolution and service experience.
• Post-move complaint resolution
Non branded movers have a tendency not to attend any calls once there is a problem and payment is done. You must make sure that you hire a branded mover adapting customer centric practices like post move customer care, offering post move settling in services etc. in order to make the relocation hassle-free.
• Insurance
You must insist on damage cover for your shipment to avoid any hassle later on. Make sure to declare the proper value in order to ensure a smooth damage care process in case of any kind of damage.
• Communication
Clear point of contact is required for all move related queries. All necessary documentations like quotes, payment notifications etc. should be delivered in record (mails/sms). A good feedback system is hallmark of a professional packer and mover.
• Packing
Insist on proper packing for all your items and ensure that appropriate and best quality packing materials are used for proper packing without cutting corners.
• Transparency
Ensure that all communications are on record. The mover should be reachable at all time for any queries and should be able to clear all your doubts regarding the move.
• The team
The mover team interacting with you should be approachable at all times and should be genuinely interested in giving you a hassle-free experience. Always trust your gut feeling backed with ample search and you will have all your moving pains taken away.
