Dahisar, the foremost locality of Mumbai, is situated in the northern part of the city. Inhabited
by the tribes in the early years, the place started welcoming inhabitants from the city of
Mumbai soon after the railway connections were established. Dahisar was initially a part of the
Thane district and became a part of Mumbai in 1956.
Now, though Dahisar has lost much of its greenery and is polluted, a mangrove stretch still keeps

complexes, apartment buildings like NL Complex and Ashokvan, with all amenities like flyovers,

Location
Located on the northwest of Mumbai, Dahisar was a favourable place due to its serenity and good
connectivity. A railway line divides East Dahisar and West Dahisar. The Dahisar subway connects

Dahisar is bounded by saltpans of the Manori creek on one side and by the greenery of the
